Verdane and Bpifrance Bet Big on Telemedicine Leader

Verdane and Bpifrance back France's leading teleconsultation provider to widen virtual care access at home and across Europe.

Medadom, France's largest teleconsultation provider, has secured investment from Verdane, a European growth buyout firm, and Bpifrance, France's state investment bank, in a deal announced in March 2026 intended to fund domestic expansion and lay the foundation for a broader push across Europe.

Founded in 2017, Medadom became the first teleconsultation provider to receive accreditation from France's Ministry of Health. Its platform connects patients with general practitioners online and through a network of more than 5,500 terminals installed in pharmacies and optical stores. Over 9 million consultations have been facilitated to date.

For Verdane, it marks a first investment in France.

Investment will be directed at strengthening Medadom's medical governance and technology infrastructure, broadening its range of care services, and supporting expansion into other European markets over time. Bpifrance's participation aligns with national policy goals around healthcare access and reducing pressure on emergency departments in medically underserved areas.

"This is a strategic milestone that will allow the platform to accelerate development and deploy solutions at greater scale," said Elie-Dan Mimouni, co-founder of Medadom.

Verdane partner Moez Gharbi cited Medadom's combined digital and physical model as a key differentiator, pointing to its approach of placing specialist-quality access at community locations such as pharmacies.

Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026. Questions remain over the pace and cost of replicating Medadom's terminal network in markets with different pharmacy structures and reimbursement rules.
