Google and DocMorris launch a Gemini-powered platform to guide 11 million patients from initial symptoms to digital prescriptions
24 Mar 2026

A major shift in European healthcare is quietly taking shape. On March 19, Google and DocMorris announced a partnership to build an AI-powered health platform designed to serve millions of patients across the continent, marking one of Google's most consequential healthcare moves in the region.
At its core is a personalized AI health companion built on Google's Gemini models. It walks patients through a connected care journey, from initial symptom check to e-prescription redemption. TeleClinic, Germany's largest telemedicine platform with more than 6,500 active doctors, anchors the offering. It processed over two million treatments in 2025 alone.
The integration runs deeper than patient-facing tools. DocMorris is migrating its entire IT infrastructure to Google Cloud, with all sensitive health data processed inside EU data centers. Built to comply with GDPR and the EU AI Act's rules for high-risk health applications, this structure addresses two regulatory hurdles that have tripped up plenty of tech companies eyeing European healthcare expansion.
Philipp Justus, Vice President at Google Central Europe, called it a new benchmark for personalized, secure, and scalable digital healthcare. Woven together are Google Cloud, Gemini AI, Google Ads, and Google for Health in a single coordinated stack, pairing pharmaceutical expertise with enterprise-grade AI infrastructure.
Targets are ambitious. DocMorris is aiming for mid-double-digit revenue growth in its digital services division this year, backed by expanded telemedicine capacity and conversational AI tools across its 11 million active customers. Europe's telehealth sector is projected to hit $42 billion by 2030, and this deal, fusing cloud infrastructure with large language models inside an established care network, could define how that growth actually plays out.
